Moral values, principles, and politics

"I'm Right, You're Wrong! NO You're Wrong, I'm Right!" is the new book by Ricardo Planas, a senior political analyst educated at The George Washington University. The book is an exploration of current campaign issues from a fresh moral values principles perspective, on ethics and political correctness, with the idea that the political world is in need of a new set of leaders, leaders who cut across the ideological spectrum and across partisan lines to represent Americans with a respect for the innate dignity of all human beings, with ethics and moral values. Many issues are discussed in the book's chapters, available for free download from ReasonandPolitics.com, including the pro gun control position.

The pro gun control position

The recent events at Virginia Tech have called into question the laws regarding the possession and availability of guns in today's America. The pro gun control position believes that stricter regulations would have prevented the tragic massacre from occurring, while those against strict restrictions believe that had other law-abiding students been able to carry concealed weapons on the school's campus, that the killer could have been stopped. Both sides of the coin are examined in Planas' book, in a chapter available free for download. The author takes into account the importance of moral values when developing his positions.

The importance of moral values in politics

In keeping with the book's perspective, other issues important to the current campaigns are explored. From typical culture war topics like abortion to the Wars on Terror and in Iraq, the author stresses the importance of moral values as a universal and inclusive concept when thinking politically, stressing that moral values principles should be taken into account when looking for a leader. Peruse the chapters to get a taste of the new ideas the book has to offer.
