Abortion
If It’s Life, Does it Matter?

Ever since the Roe v Wade decision, the issue of abortion has been at the forefront of American politics. Abortion has been a litmus test by both the Republican and Democratic political parties. It figures highly in the nomination and approval of judges and Supreme Court justices. Along with gay marriage, abortion defines the controversial and more inclusive category of family values. It is likely the single most divisive topic in America’s cultural war.

For decades, Pro-Choice and Pro-Life advocates have been engaged in this war of words attacking each other while seeking to justify the morality of their views. What issues surround the abortion debate? As the title of this section illustrates, the question is about whether to consider the unborn as human life and the extent to which that life should matter at all.
